Shasta region struggles to recover from snowstorm

Hwy89 at Snowman HillMt. Shasta- Today marks the end of a nightmarish week which saw record snowfall on Mt. Shasta, poor driving conditions and the loss of power to thousands of local residents. Local officials opened emergency heating shelters in McCloud and Mt. Shasta.

The local community of McCloud has been virtually cut off from the rest of the world and has been without power since Monday, January 18th.

The weather forecast calls for scattered snow showers throughout the next seven days.
