McCloud Dinner Train to cease operations Jan 1st

by Shasta Cascade on November 21, 2009

The Shasta Sunset Dinner Train, based in McCloud, announced it would stop operations on January 1, 2010.
The final run will be the New Year’s Eve.

Ridership had fallen dramatically over the years, and ticket prices no longer covered operational costs.

Local business owners expressed concern over the closure, since the train was responsible for bringing many people to McCloud.
