Trail Review: Burney Falls State Park

by ShastaPaul on June 1, 2010

Beautiful Burney Falls State Park is located about 40 miles east of McCloud, along Hwy 89. The Park is located in a remote location, adjacent to Lake Britton and about 5 miles outside the town of Burney.

The entrance fee is $5, which is spendy if you want to just pop in for a couple minutes to see the falls. The location is fairly remote, so allow some time to enjoy the area.

The Park includes a campground with cabins and camping sites. There’s also a general store.

There is a viewing platform for the falls that is located just a short walk from the parking areas. A trail leads down to the bottom of the falls. There’s usually a couple people fishing in the pond.

The Park has a number of trails that take you throughout the area.

If you’re in the mood for camping, Burney Falls has a bunch of small cabins that are available for rent.
